I have a problem, Ive got a 91 runner v6, auto. The only thing is that its a 2wd. Its in great condidtion. Ive tossed myself around in the mud a few or more times. Its great fun, Should I sell my runner for another, just 4wd? Its something that I would like to do more often, just I have a fear of getting stuck. If it was 4wd I wouldnt concider selling it. I have this bond for it, I wonder if i will have this bond with my new runner? Help... Advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

I would say yes. but make sure it's an earlier 4runner, say 95 earlier so you can put a mean lift on it, among other things that the 3rds have to rig things up for.

I had the same problem with my pickup.
I was so satisfied with the car I made a 4WD out of it. I used a solid front axle (SAS) and rear axle combined with a 4WD gearbox and a lot of other stuff from the junkyard like the shocks etc.
It was pretty easy to do since both models have the same frame etc. Everything is a bold on or weld on.
That was some 12 years ago and if I remember correctly it cost me three days and only a small amount of money. That is if you can get parts at a decent price.

My first runner was a 99 Limited 2wd. 13 months later I have my 4wd limited and the 2wd is for sale. If you like wheeling, even mildly, then make the trade. You won't regret it as long as you get a good 4wd.
