You could always remove the ISR cap the hole with a PVC end cap, drill a hole for the vacuum tube and you're good to go.

If you're looking to replace the whole tube, then I got materials from Lowe's - I had problems finding the right sizes at Home Depot. To size things, I pulled the intake in the parking lot and brought it inside. It made things a whole lot easier.

If you're looking to leave the stock tube and just plug up the holes, then I found pieces to fit at both Lowe's and Home Depot. Again, pulling the intake and bringing it in makes things easier.

yeah id like to replace the silencer all together and the reason why im a bit heistant to spend $89 for the airaid is cause im not sure if the sound increase is worth the extra omph. and lowes would have a PVC tube thats about 2.5" ID?

Its only loud if you have the deckplate mod or have opened up your airbox. If you have the deckplate, you can put it back in and the intake noise will be close to stock. My truck is loud only when i'm on the throttle. Otherwise it is tolerable.

You can get the same result if you make it yourself. The Airaid might be bigger in diameter in the middle since it is molded this way. With the tubing it will be the same diameter the whole length. The effects are probaly negligible. Also, since it is molded it has no seams or ribs to obstruct the air flow.

I hope you people are not using PVC. PVC releases toxic gases when it is exposed tot he temperatures that exist under hte hood of your vehicle.

DO NOT USE PVC!!!

I got mine for free! Went to a muffler shop, gave the guy the diameters for both ends. He said i'll try it and said "you can have it" I believe rerouting vacumn hoses for 99+ is easy. I didnt have to get anything else, just route the hoses.

Hey 2001Millrunner, when you re-routed your hoses, did you follow this tech write-up? https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech...take/albpm.htm

I'm seeing a couple takes on the ISR mod in this thread.
The original poster has a 99 runner... I dunno what steps are involved in that ISR mod but I do know that there are some versions where the intake runs through the silencer and another version where the silencer is plugged into the side of the intake.

Talk about a plastic cap vs. a segment of pipe vs. Airaid are going to be confusing if this guy doesn't know which type of intake silencer he has.

my 2001 came with the plastic cap on the intake plenum. so i just pull the hose from the intake silencer and rerouted it to that after i took off the plastic cap. Check the pics on write up and make sure you have the same set up. I'd think on on write up would be more accurate for your application.
