Black Pearl Emblems

Hey Guys, I know they are really expensive, but I just found a write up on how to make your own for a couple of bucks.

Check it out here!

That is pretty cool. I didn't think that would work, but they do look pretty good. Who would have thought. Are you going to do it Beowulf? :fireman:

Yes I think it looks pretty good too. I posted this on another board and somebody else confirmed this works good. Said he's been doing it for a few years now with really good results ... I guess his secret is out He said the only way you can tell is if you put REAL Black Pearl Emblems next to it, otherwise no one will notice.

It beats paying $160 or so for some black pieces of plastic doesn't it?

I will first do a test run on a old emblem (if I can scrounge one up anytime soon) If it looks good, I just might try it (but I'm not sure how it would look against my Jade Green 4Runner).

I might try it if I'm bored enough this weekend, can't spend too much money though need it to replace the windshield and have the timing chain replaced w/ metal guides.

Well, make sure you take some pictures of the whole process and put it in the tech section. Do a write up and that will help others. Take lots and lots of pictures and let us know what you come up with. Goodluck! :fireman:

Wonder what this would look like if someone did the entire front end like bumper and grill... not that i'm gonna be the one to try it heh. Just curious how long it would stand up to the abuse of the heat and the cold.

I would like the credit Bob, but Beowulf found this. He is the one you should thank.

Bob, Phil and Beowulf, post the pictures when/if you do this. I wanna see what it looks like when it is done. New things get me excited! :fireman:
