Security Device, Please help Identify
OK all, I need your help. 1st off, can you tell me if this comes with a 95 4runner. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...s/P8150001.jpg Also is there anyway of checking it out. I just found it under my dash. It is on the drivers side. I don't see any switches of any kind except something in the pannel right above my left foot, but it seems to have no switch in it. It seems to be a small toggle switch, but broken. My question is, haw can I find out if this thing is hooked up or not. Please help. If you need any more info, Please ask. Thanks

It's an old alarm system. the toggle switch is for valet/service to disable the unit.
I have removed quite a few alarms, but would not recommend doing yourself unless your really familar with wiring circuits.

you can get a new clicker from toyota that is what I did for mine and it only cost 45 dollars...
to test plug the white clip in to the brain the black box. with the key in the on position flip the toggle switch the led on the left of dash should light up letting you know you are in valet mode. At that point it is kinda a crap shoot to go buy a clicker and program it.
My truck was missing the brain and i went to a junk yard found one and hooked it up and it worked...so that is what i am using

I'm thinking its a dealer add on thing.
My brother use to go to all the dealerships in the area and install alarms and what not for his work. Code alarm is one of the ones he use to do.
If it hasn't given you any problems there is probably no reason to mess with it. If you are looking for an alarm to use you can do better.
