strenght of a marlin crawler winch bumper??
I currently have a arb winch bumper on my 91 toyota p/u. I am gonna sas it in a couple months and need to swith out the winch bumper because i cant use the arb with the sas in place. Im a little nervous going to a marlincrawler winch bumper wich has only 4 bolts holding it on to the truck v.s my arb with has 10 big bolts holding it to the truck. will the marlin crawler bumper be strong enough during a hard winch pull wether it be recovery from the mud or up a embankment. What are your experiences with that bumper? Thanks

I would think you'll bend your frame before you bend a marlin bumper. They make nice products, but thats not "personal" experience. You can adapt and ARB to work on a SAS, just takes a little fabbin.
edit: and i believe the marlin bumper has at least 6 mounting bolts, if not 8

"Hornet" Stinger From "The Metal Works"
Just got this one mounted today. It is a beast and beats a Marlin Crawler any day. It has 6 mounting points, all directly to the frame and is supported well for all angle impacts. It's made of solid Pipe not tube-very heavy. 110lbs
You'll find contact numbers there too for Victor Yordy at the shop .

i have the marlin crawler front bumper on my rig. i dont have a winch on it but its pretty solid. what their pics dont show is that the bumper has tabs on it the go between your body mount bushing and body mount. so the bumper is bolted to the body mount and the front crossmember. its is also very easy to brace it more, by welding tubing from the bumper to the frame rails.

Big Rocks off road make a really nice winch bumper...a little pricey @ $425 plus shipping but when i get the cash it will be my choice
you can see in the 2nd pic it has side suports to prevent twisting
