Something Snapped off !! Help !!!
Hi everyone !!
I was changing lanes on un-even pavement and my truck had a violent shimmy happen to it. I was having a look around and noticed that a component on my lower left control arm has sheared off at the bottom. It looks to me like let left sway-brace support arm?? i'm sure that's not "exactly" what it is called.
Can anyone tell me what this part is called, or even better hook me up with the part number???? I've attatched some pic's.....

Correct it is called the sway bar link. However, you can usually get a "sway bar link kit" that is basically just the bolt and washers and bushings, as long as you can get the stock bolt out of that link. It can save you some money and possibly time if that bolt comes out easy enough.

Just take the sway bar off and go wheeling! Replace all that junk with some energy suspension polyurethane pieces. They make a nice kit to replace all that nasty rotten rubber you have going there and it's cheap.

when i was trying to take off my sway bar to change the endlink bushings, i broke every bolt. so i was like screw it trying to take out the broken bolts and just didnt bother putting it back in. my truck leans a bit more but it doesnt matter to me. i do tons of sharp turns and the truck never lifts a tire

Yeah, you can get away without the front sway bar. You'll have a little more than normal body roll so that might give you an uneasy feeling, but you've felt that already after the end-link broke- the way it drove after that is how it will be.
The end-links are like 35+ bucks a piece at autozone so they're probably more elsewhere. I don't think energy suspension makes a link, but they do make the bushings for the bottom but that wouldn't help you.
You could also check in to quick-disconnect end links.

I experianced some added sway when I removed my sway bar, but I feel the wider wheels I run really help to regain the lost turning ability. My truck can rail corners with the best of trucks. Super stable even when lifting the inside front tire

Pull the bar and toss it. (I just really wanted to add my .02$)
I pulled mine off the 89 when doing a clutch and forgot to put it back on, didn't remember until a few weeks later. You'll never know it's gone unless you drive like a fiend.
