Rocker Panels (replacement parts)

Well, i'm more or less restoring my truck, 88 PU, and i am having a really fun time trying to source some rocker panels. I found Wolf Steel, out of Canada, but i e-mail, called and didn't get anything back so i have no idea whats going on there. So if anyone has some suggestions that would be really cool.

those pieces are so easy to make yourself .... just look at them !!!

bend them up on a table and weld them in . easy peasy . (thats what wolf does )

turns out, i don't have a sheet metal brake???? also??? if you've noticed rocker panels are rounded, i also don't have a roller, let alone, that would be a HUGE roller. But wait??? is wolf steel out of business or what??? Other than that, if you have a trick to bending a piece of metal that large accurately, then i'd like to know about it. To 92yota, if you look in google shopping, i came across a few different people who sold rocker panels for the early nineties pickups.

yeah definitely not easy peasy to make without a sheet metal break. maybe you can get some used ones i know for sure that most wreaking yards will cut them off for you and ship to where ever needed. how's the rest out your cab?

The cab really isn't to bad, just the cab corners are... well... not exactly there, but really, thats just flat sheet metal. On that, i do know a guy with a sheet metal brake, as they are sheet metal workers. Granted, haven't talked to him in something like a year, and no real way of getting a hold of him, but that is looking like its going to be my only option. Junk yard rockers were like 125???? thats just crazy, i found stainless ones cheaper than than. But really, i would like to know what happened to that wolf steel guy/company, as he also had cab corners. HA, yeah, really, its not a show truck, by any means, i just want something to replace the wholes, so i'm not expecting anything pretty.

Well...the best way I can think to do it would be to cut some rocker sections off a scrap truck and weld them in....hope you are good at welding sheet metal!

Yeah, i have some decent practice welding sheet metal, just have to use spot welds, can't really run beads. That said... i live in MI, yota are few and far between, and the ones that are far between are in worse shape than my truck..... I'm probably going to have to find some junk yard outside of MI and have them take them off and send them my way.... OORR... if i could friggin get a hold of my buddy, i could just bend up some hideous like panels, but i'd be happy...

I might have some trucks laying around that I could cut the rockers off of and send to you.....you would just have to pay my tech for the labor and cover the shipping.....just let me know if you are interested...

Yes, well, thats pretty cool, just get me prices together so i know what i'm looking at, and i need drivers and passengers side. Also, i'm no to concerned about what shape they are in, i mean, within reason, but i'm mainly looking for rust free panels, thats what i'm shooting for here. thanks.
