No camera at the moment. As far as the axle conversion I have heard that is the way to go for great strength. I have started a fluid change on everything. Replacing valve cover and Oil pan gaskets because of leaks. Needs a CV repack and new boots. I could just replace but trying to keep prices down for now. 170k on the engine! The bed is toast of course, already took the bed off

I've never been a big fan of SAS unless you are a solid hardcore, rock running, big meats on the ground, insane climbs in off camber situations wheeler. Not to mention that a SFA looks freaking SEXY!

Just to give you an alternate option/opinion mine is still IFS and after a few mods it goes anywhere I want it to go. "Anywhere I want it to go" includes some rather tricky rock climbs, some really leaning trail runs (pucker factor of about 8.5), long runs on the highway, deep deep trail runs to get to those fishing spots and some stupid crawls to get to a camping site way up past the tree line.

Just want to let you know that although a solid front axle is FREAKING SWEET it may not be the best "bang for the buck".

You should use anaerobic silicone type sealant on the oil pan....only 85 and down came with the gasket. Just a thought, but you need to get some pics up asap!

IMO the IFS is a bit much to keep in shape, bushings etc. An SAS is a good option to keep it simple.

Not that I want to start a discussion on SAS-vs-IFS but I disagree with that statement. An SAS on a rig that wasn't straight axle from the factory has a hell of a lot of measurements that all have to match for a proper swap. An SAS might cost what??? 3000$ with all the springs/bushings/welding/etc?

Again I don't want to start a debate but IMHO if you are not doing anything crazy then a well maintained IFS front will do you well.

I think a SA is easier to maintain than IFS. And yes installing an SAS is a chore. My IFS has worked well, other than the upper (rancho) arm breaking. I have an 85 axle i got free, so down the road it's an SAS for sure.

Was reading about the RCV's last night at work. Look like the thing to get. But no applications for the early year stuff.
