Which color wire to which trans. solenoid?

I am wondering which color (black,white,or yellow) wire goes to the No. 2 solenoid in the transmission. BTW 1994 AT 4wd 4runner. thanks a million, Lyle

Where would it be located underneath? Near the front or the back of the trans?

Its on the valve body (inside the tranny pan) but you don't have to remove the VB, probably have to remove the ATF filter though. Might as well get a new filter while you have it off anyway, especially if you're having solenoid problems. Things as small as lint from a rag can cause problems with solenoids. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...38onvehicl.pdf

Don't forget to clean the magnets and put them back as shown in the FSM.

It looks like the #2 solenoid is the one closest to the rear of the VB.

I think it the one he has his hand on. My no 1 was in the middle and no 2 was beside it and lock up was toward the back. You can test them with an ohm meter I think it is 11 to 15 ohms, if you get no reading it is dead and that is your problem. Stick the red lead on the prone after you unplug it and the black lead on the side of the body of the solenoid and you should get a reading.
