Experience w/Hella Rallye 4000
I'm looking for pictures and/or impressions of folks using the Hella Rallye 4000 Euro beam light with City light. I'd really like to see the city light illuminated.
I'm torn between these and the LightForce 240's. I haven't seen many people run the Hella 4000's. Is there a reason? I've used the Hella 500's...I had both the clear pencil and yellow fogs on the OEM bumper. I'd like to clean it up with one large set.
Thanks...now let's see your 4000's!!

My 4000s were amazing. Well before the dumb@ss ran the red light and took them and my bumper out. I have no idea what the city light even is but I had the euro beam models and it was like driving in daylight when you lit those babies up.

So if it produces no usable light why get them? I just don't see the point. I always just left the covers on the lights to protect them so you wouldn't be able to see the light anyhow. And you don't want to be running around with those 100 dollar a piece lights unprotected do you?

To me it seems more economical to buy the Euro pattern with the City Light integrated. In fact the Euro's w/CL are 109.00 a piece while the non CL version is 119.00. Does this make sense? Sure it's a little bling, but when they are $10.00 less than the plain Euro's...why not?
You are right about using the covers, unfortunatly I've cracked all of mine while trying to remove them in icy conditions. The best thing to do is turn the lights on for a couple minutes THEN remove the covers.

I really don't see the city lights as being helpful when there is a whiteout. The amber fog lights seem to be the only lights I've ever used that helped in situations like that.
Here they are for the same price.http://www.truckcustomizers.com/prod...HLA263.2A.html

City lights are primarily used in Europe where it's illegal to have your main headlights on while driving through city streets (smaller cities). The city lights are merely to let pedestrians and/or other cars to know you're there.

I run 2 Hella 4000 Euro's on the bumper of my rig and I love them, I also run a pair of PIAA euro's but they do not compare to the Hella's. I have never had a problem with them, the light output is amazing and the focus is killer.

All European countries have simillar laws in those themes, with some addings (F.e. in Norway it's mandatory to have the lights on during the day, this is due to the winters with only 3 or 4 hours of light).
Cars and trucks must have city lights (As you name them, we name them position lights) for law. They accomplish a dual function, parking lights and city lights at the same time.
Parking lights are (Supposed to be) for when you park in a dark lane, the mandatory is to have one white and one red in the left of the car (As VW do when you stop engine and let the city lights on), but the most average have all 4 lights (2 F + 2R) on.
The city lights cannot be used alone (But people do), they have always to be with the low beams, high beams, fogs or warning lights.
I mean that here a policeman could put a ticket to you if you're inside the city with only the city lights, but it's quite common, specially when it's getting dark but not enought to go with the low beams...
