Wheels: 16x8 w/ 4.0 BS OK?

Hey guys, I am just posting to get a little advice about wheels.

I am planning to sell my current OEM 16" alloys to a member here and get different wheels to replace them (obviously ). My dilemma is that the wheels I am wanting to buy (Pro-Comp 1069, see pic) comes in two variants of backspacing, 4.5 and 4.0.

My preference would be to get the 4.0" because I want to do the large Tundra upgrade (231mm) which would help me with fitting the larger calipers, and it would also give a truck a wider stance which is a good thing.

If anyone has any insight into this, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Marko

I have a set of these wheels w 4" backspacing and love them. I am running 305/70/16's on them and have no issues w rubbing. I am not sure about the tundra brake upgrade. Hope this helps in some way. If not, bump for ya

That helps quite a lot actually. How much do your tires stick out past the fender flares, if at all?

Edit: Do you have any more pictures of those rims on your truck? Are you still using them? On another thread you said you had them on there for a while. If you did take them off, mind if I ask why? Thanks.

I would definitely return those rims. Stock backspacing is anywhere between 4.25 and 4.75 (not sure on the number) so you would be about an inch further in with the new rims which would probably not clear your calipers and most likely have your tire hit the upper a-arms. Why did you get such high backspacing in the first place?

With the 305's, they barely stick outside the flares. I have since taken off the flares and herculined where they were. I still have the wheels on. I will try to find/ post a few pics of them.

Marko,

This wheel will work with the Tundra brakes. We sell them to the Tundra guys all the time. The backspacing is not the only factor in the fitment. The design and offset of the center also factors in. Here is a link to Centerline that shows the different styles of center and the relation to backspacing.

Wow, it couldn't get any better than this. I have looked on your site, and I was wondering if you're able to get me a shipping cost for 4 wheels to 95130 without me ordering?

Also, do you by any chance have pictures of 3rd gens with the black version of these?

Thanks for help!

Marko,

Shipping appears to be around $45 for the set of 4 wheels. I could not find any pics of them installed in our collection.

Regards,
Jason

If i ever get new wheels, i plan on going with 4" or 3.75" BS. 4.5" is too close to being stock.
