For any of those of you that have broken front axles what broke, inner or joint and where you lifted or stock height.
Any idea what caused the breakage ?
Inners most likely, I would think, would be CV binding.
If outer, did it break or pull apart ?

Just trying to figure what breaks on them most often and why.

haven't broken one yet, my inner pass side wheel bearing fell apart. stock height but I have 31's... hope that helps-hiriden

 

right side outer, hard turn on bush trail. loud screech three times then silence. found out next day what had happened. that eventually led to losing my right wheel brg @ highway speed. stock height, 31 mt's.

Never busted a CV, but I did grenade my front differential.
Trying to climb a rock wall in 4LOW and WOT!
BTW it was a 94 4Runner 4x4 4.88's AT running 32" BFG MT's.
