Here is our new prototype front bumper for 3d gen 4runner.
Fits any year 1996-2002.
For the best aproche angle, grill has been removed.
No frame modification. Bumper-one init bolted on original points. Turn signals and the grill will be added latter after testing.

He does sell a rear bumper, Blake is correct its 1200. Hes a top notch guy, however, and you will not be dissapointed with his work.

 

i wish someone would sell a 3rd gen rear bumper without tire carrier for like 300 bucks!

agreed. Somebody needs to make a simple rear 3rd gen bumper and charge less than $500. May go ahead and make my own but these fab guys could make a lot of money on one I think.

yeah, matierial alone on that rear bumper is probably pushing 2 to 250. Time into just making it, looking at 250, which is only 5 hours of welding and cutting paying your guy 50 an hour, which is cheap for that. Assuming you get the pieces laser cut, and the buy the steel in bulk, buy the hinge, latch, and hardware in bulk, plus a powder coat, you are looking at 750 or so, just to build the thing. That is no profit, and none for R&D, no insurance, no paying off the initial debt for buying tools.

So, if you want a cheap rear bumper under 500, you had better make it yourself.

Nice looking bumper. I'd just like to point out, though, that the bumper mounts are different for 95.5-98 than 99-02. To mount that bumper on the later model 3rd gens you would have to cut off the lower part of the factory bumper mounts on the front of the frame. Just wanted to make sure you were aware. Great looking product!

 

you're not kidding there. i have right at $500 in materials/consumables in my rear bumper plus right at 40 or so hours total labor. yeah, i said 40 hours labor. that doesn't include the time to develop it on AutoCAD or the time/effort to research the parts, materials, designs, etc. the slee hinge is over $100 with shipping by itself. add in the stainless latch at $60, then the tag frame at another $50 used or over $100 for new, then all the steel, the welding wire, the cutting discs for the angle grinder/circular saw/chop saw, the sanding discs, etc.

tools needed would be something to cut & grind with so an angle grinder is a must. then you really need a good backing plate and tons of 50-grit and 80-grit paper. you need a welder with wire, and if it's MIG, then you need a bottle with gas. you have to have the welding helmet, gloves, etc to get the job done. you need a tape measure and a good square. you need a drill with some good bits - and those aren't cheap by the way. you need a hostof other stuff, plus a place to do the work, another vehicle to drive so you're not constantly taking it off and putting it back on to work on it. last, but most importantly, you need a good plan, some basic design know-how and some skills with laying a bead. none of that is "cheap".

 

No harm meant...The bumper really does look bomb-proof. It's nice to see more companies getting in the mix for the 3rd gen bumper market.

 

those bumpers are badass. you CO guys are lucky to have so many fabbers to pick n choose from.

i dont see why a plain jane bare bones rear ala bruceTS style cant be had for 5 bills. i think eric was talking about one of those, without tire carrier/hitch/recovery points? id imagine with templates and preset measurements they can be mass produced and even sent out as a kit to put together yourself, kinda like what bruce had/has in the works.

andy, yours truly is a work of art and is a showcase of what a well excecuted one off deluxe bumper should look like...so its no comparison that yours could even touch 500. at least triple that in dollar value...
