New Here (92 Truck)
Hello,
First off just wanted to say this forum is awesome... I just recently purchased a nice little 1992 truck with the 22re to get me around through college and have fun with everyonce in a while. But, coming from the muscle car world this stuff is all new to me (I have 4.10's in it and thats LOW to me coming from a mustang standpoint). I have done as much research as possible and I know its annoying for topics such as mine to come up all the time, but I want your oppinions before I do anything. I need to get new tires anyways and I wouldnt mind putting a little money into it to make it semi trail worthy to go wheeling with some friends on the weekends. But I am also on a small budget working part time and being a full time student at Colorado State University. To the point, I was thinking BJ spaces up front and I am not sure as to what I need to do in the rear because I see a lot of stuff from the runners but I am not sure if its all the same? and some 31 x 10.50 tires. Can anyone lead me into the right direction, I want to do it right the first time and not regret anything I do. I am not going to do any hardcore wheeling till I get used to it, so I was thinking this would get my feet wet. I also don't want a lot of things breaking and such so I am not sure if BJ spacers are the right route either, maybe just a small body lift? As far as tires I was thinking bfg mt, or the revo ats? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

BJ spacers will be fine for the front.
You have leaf springs in the rear, so a new set of leaf packs will do fine. You probably want a 2inch lift with the bj spacers to stay level. You can get leaves from any number of companies, research and choose. With 31's you shouldn't be breaking much because of the BJ spacers, and both of those tire choices are good, go with what you think is best.

New leafs in the rear are the best option. Chances are the shocks and springs are shot all the way around.
I would also suggest new shocks all around and new torsion bars up front. This way you are improving the springs and shocks all together, giving you more control on the trail and a balanced ride on the street.

Be sure to check out www.ttora.com - the CO chapter is setting up some events in the Fort collins area to try and attract some students to go 4Wheeling. They will also be able to provide personal advice and installation help!
