need injector help 86 22re

I have an 86 22re with a bad injector. I've tried movig the injector to a different hole and the problem follows. The engine was a swap from a 92 but the top end (fuel rail, manifolds ect.) is from the 86. My question is: I have the entire fuel rail with injectors from the 92 but the connectors are different. Is there any way to swap a single injector, or entire fuel rail? Can the connector be swapped? I was wondering if I cut the wires on the 86 injector could I splice in the 92 injector? Any help is appreciated.

Well, I tried the splice and it worked. Now if anyone can tell me if there is a reason I shouldn't have done this it would be appreciated. It seems to run good.

No that will work. Just make sure the connection is good and covered well.
