hello everyone i thought some of you would be interested in seeing my new cage. it ties to the frame in 6 places through the stock body mounts. my friend designed it to be both structrual as well as maintaining as many of the stock components as possible. all the seats still fold down, visors still function and all the dash components are still in tact! please let me know what you think!

Now that is a nice cage. Fits in the dash and doesn't crimp leg room.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it and why in the hell would he add an exo cage now? :pat:

At 200+ hours of time into it from what Hman said...you can't afford to pay someone to do that...even at $5-10/hr. Most fab shops (including myself) base labor off $35-50/hr and that is for routine stuff. That probably doesn't count the countless hours he spent thinking things up, changing ideas, experimentation...priceless work. Hman has one good friend for doing something like that for him. I hope you bought him more than beer and pizza!

The reason for a cage (internal or external) is mainly to protect the occupants, since he has one on the inside, he will not be adding one to the outside. it adds up to a LOT of weight like that. The internal cage will protect the passengers, not the body. An exo will do both but is heavier.

I am not an expert by any means on this. Do a search for them on google. there is a lot of information (pros/cons) for both types of cages.
