Well im sure you guys have heard of the relay rod/center link/drag link recall on the trucks. My 86 pickup is unfortunatley not part of the recall. My relay rod is in horrible condition.

Heres the damage

Close Up

Look at the wheel, nice and crooked a little.

Needless to say, my friends at moog hooked me up with one for $100 and im gonna go ahead and replace the steering stabilizer while im in there. I cant wait.

Do you think its safe to drive it? I work 20 minutes away from home and have no other form of transportation. I am gonna buy some more pb when i get the chance. I really dont think there'll be a problem, Im using an impact to do it.

I did all new tie rods on mine and the old ones weren't that bad looking at 236K miles. I hate surprises at speed. Check out all your tie rods while you're at it. And your idler arm looks pretty rusty...makes me wonder what shape it's in internally. Fortunately, it can be rebuilt pretty cheap.

Auto parts are cheaper than hospital bills, lawsuits and caskets.

I just replaced my tie rod ends not even 6000 miles ago. I checked them and they were fine. The idler arm is just dirty. Im sure its ok.
