Alright, picked the truck up for $500 after throwing a rod in my 87 runner. Decided to start fresh, since I still hadn't even sas'd the runner. Truck had been hit once before on the passenger side. Previous owner installed a new front clip. Motor is a 22r, strong runner.
I removed the 98% rust free bed and built a flat bed. Swapped my 5sp trans from the runner in place of the 4 spd. New rear main seal, and resurfaced the flywheel, clutch was good. Gutted the interior and decided to do a Drive train lift. After purchasing and installing 3" lift mounts, decided to move the engine 8 1/2" rearward. This would allow me room for a winch, and eventually narrowing the front fenders. Not to mention help out with distributing the weight more towards the rear. This is about the time I started taking pics. Cut the firewall to clearance the motor, and fabbed some new motor mounts. The floors were a little rotted and so I cut them out, and will build a sub floor, sheeted with alum. Ups delivered my t-case adapter last Friday.

My time is limited, and my plans are to have this thing complete before July.
I plan to get about 3" lift from a rear springs up front, and 63" Chevy spring swap. I still need to get my crossover steering. I will add pics this evening. Before I can do more work, I have to clean my garage. I will update pics probably once a week. If you want specific pics, request them. PLEASE, feel free to tell me i'm stupid or to ask what in the heck I'm doing. I need this kind of help.

 

Oh, and i started an exo, but quickly scrapped it. It was very hillbillyish.

 

Did you know that stock rear springs will fit up front with custom stackle mounts and It moves the front axle 4 inches forward. It would help your weight issue and approach angle. and give you 4 inch lift.

the steel running across the fram was just wedged in there to help support the trans.

the basics of the motor mounts, unfinished, and unwelded in the pics. I added a 1 1/2"piece od 2" 11 g square tubing to space the two sides apart.
I'm not adding anymore pics right now, until I can figure out a better way to do it. I need a good place to host my pics

Thanks. While cutting away the floor pans, I left corners in there for strength, and I left enough matl. around the body mounts. I was worried of the Strength I would be cutting away, I almost cut away and built the sub floor in sections. I went ahead and cut it all out, and it's perfectly fine. Last night I did cut away the section of the firewall below the windshield to clearence for the motor. This area, will need alot of bracing.
