Has anyone done this mod? When my buddy got his 99 4runner, I was hugely jealous. Playing with the window and finding out that not only do they have auto downs, but auto ups as well made me all the more jealous. Being the lazy guy that I am, I would love to have this feature in my 92 'runner. I haven't had a good chance to investigate enough, as I don't have access to a 3rd gen. Would it be as simple as ripping out the new ones from a totalled 3rd and putting them into my 2nd gen? My passenger side button is worn out, meaning I have to be a gentleman and roll it up or down for them. I figured I might as well try upgrading it. Rock

 

Has to also be from a '99+ since earlier 3rd gens had only auto down on the driver's side.

 

my friends 98 has auto up and down on both driver and passenger side. fun to mess with but its a pain when ur only tryin to put the window up or down a little ways.

 

Ok, so it will only work from certain vehicles. I am just curious if its a plug n' giver sort of thing, or if ill need to do some minor (or major) modifications. To any 3rd gen owners, you wouldn't by chance have a pic of your window controls?

 

Just get aftermarket window control modules used in alarm installs. You can gain auto up and down for all the windows including the tailgate and sunroof.
