new motor- break in period

Just got a new motor in our sequoia & was wondering the best way to break it in? Any suggestions?

Mods - I posted the thread here as it applies to any new motor.

If you already broke the cam in, I would suggest you call the dealer and talk to the service dept. for a standard break-in schedule.

Just avoid any full-throttle starts or prolonged driving at a steady speed for the first 1000 miles and you will be fine.

It had piston slap when really cold out for the first 30 seconds under load. still ran great but they tore it apart & the piston to wall spec was out. I can't complain, I had 93,000 km on it. Free new motors are always good.
