Need Advise Regarding Buying a New Yota

First off, I need to establish what I currently drive:

its an 84 2x4 22R with no front bumper, 127k miles, no key (uses screwdriver lol), rattlecan paint job, some rust.

Its an allright truck, but obviously being an open diff 2x4 with stock suspension, I am very limited. Now I have an opportunity to sell my 1984 Honda Shadow. Selling that along with this truck should give me enough money to buy a new 4x4. I have my eyes on one in perticular, and if I commit to buy he will hold on to it.

So I just want everyones thoughts on if you agree that this would be moving up to something nicer, or if you think that I should hold on for something better. All opinions would be appriciated.

Ah man, I like your truck, really. But, that new one would be a step up. It really depends on what he is asking for it. What kind of shape is it in engine wise? I see a large dent in the front, and what looks to be a tarp on the top. Looks like a nice Toy, but if it leaks all over you.....

if you read the discription it says its a removeale soft top from some company that makes them, so hopefully it is well done, but I will definately check that out. the dent doesnt bother me, this is a wheelin rig. he is asking $2200, maybe i can talk him to 2k

i'd be worried about the roll bar. most likely it's some cheesy "bed bar"(for legal reasons) that you'd be screwed in a rollover.

nice 2wd btw, looks just like the one i used to have...without all the rust. brings back some memories from capitol forest

most of those bars are made out of really thin gauge steel even bolt-together junk. the real heavy gauge ones are hard to come by. also, it's probably just bolted to the body/bed, so it'll just punch through the floor in a roll.

then again, its probably better than nothing.
