Hello all,
another newb here.
I did a search and found nothing. My break check light keeps coming on. any ideas?

 

is it the one for the e-brake ?

 

check your fluid level... mine is very sensitive.. it loooks good but it still sets off the light

 

yes.. it happens all the time, when i'm driving around.

 

if its that one then i think you have to adjust it

 

Like SnoViking said check the fluid level first, make sure it's at the Max line. Both my 4Runners have had a very sensitive light when the level gets down even a little bit.

 

Man there was an almost identicle thread up about this less than a week ago. Search maybe broken. Hmm..

 

The toyota mechanic said to fill up the resevoir just above the max line since he said the sensors are very sensitive and picky.

 

Seems to come up on a weekly basis, maybe it should be a sticky, in big capital letters

 

Yeah, might not be a bad idea.

 

Ditto on the sensitive sensor and filling up to and a tad above the full line. It typically begins to show up in cooler weather when the fluid level drops slightly.

 

Nah, search works... But having a good sense of spelling helps.

"break light" and "brake light" return two different sets of answers.

 

man, I can't believe I overlooked, checking the break fluid. I always have to think so complicated. Anyways thanks for the input, and I'll be refilling it this weekend. Yeah, my bad on the spelling error. sorry about that.

 

I replaced the break fluid at lunch and it fixed the problem. Thanks all.

 

...and yet you STILL spelled it wrong!

 

yes, I'll try to spell brake lights correctly next time I'm just glad my break light problem has been solved
