manual tranny fill plug...

As I said, if it is a socket head plug, then 10mm allen (and 10mm is a tad larger than 3/8"), if hex head (like a bolt), then 14 or 17mm, whatever fits.

10mm allen = 0.394" while a 3/8" allen = 0.375" .....I wouldn't risk it

Of course there would be lubrication in there - I guess by "fluid" he means gear oil?

Well that was a PITA!!
I think I got more oil on the driveway than in the tranny
Before I could read any replies, I went ahead and figured if the 3/8 almost fit, 10mm it is, and picked one up.
I will be buying a plug from the dealer and drilling and tapping a nipple onto it to aid in the fluid transfer next time.. I figure run a 1/2" OD hose from the nipple/plug to the gear oil and let it drain... I plan on sawing a notch in the threads to both vent the tranny, and allow fluid to seep out when its full.
for the guy who didnt know about the tranny fluid, it 75w-90, GL-4 or 5 , about 4 qts
