4th Annual DeSoto Mine trail run
Hey!
Great trip, 9 rigs, and as usual, as trip leader I got very few pic's, so post'm up!
Highlights:
We had a slightly flowing creek that added mud to the equation. Great fun!
The 13 rigs in the TTORA group were 90 minutes in front of us. Most of'm were still in the rock section when we got there. Our guys spotted them thru, and we made great time after that - about 30 minutes for us.
During our lunch break the TTORA group CB'd us requesting parts for a broken steering arm on a '85 Runner. We ended up doing a welded repair w/ 3 batteries anmd jumper cable leads. After towing the guy up to the exit road, he got out via the Peck Mine road.
Rest of the run was uneventful. Great weather to boot!
Thanks to all that came!

What an awesome day. Brian, Myself, and our passengers all had a blast and plan on wheeling with you all again real soon.

The tail end of the Tacoma group going through the technical part of the wash.
One of the few action shots I was able to catch.
Daves Jeep
Here's where Steve parked for lunch.
After some crafty welding and hot batteries, this fortunate wheeler gets a tug up the hill to drive home (hopefully).
We met at the town center of Cleator for some Blue Ribbon domestic draught.
Lots of smiles.

Thanks to Mark for planning this trip, couldn't have gone smoother. The weather was perfect, we were with good company and everybody was properly equipped. Please feel free to add any shots you guys might have. I was glad to meet you all and look foward to wheeling with you guys again.

As always, this was a real great trip. I didn't take any pictures. I think Chris and Scott were the ones taking most of the pics. Chris will probably post them on his website (bajataco.com), but I don't know if Scott was gonna post his or if they were just for the Toyota 4WD magazine.

Sweet trip! THANKS AGAIN MARK! I think this was definitely the best weather we have ever had on this trip.
Hats off to everyone who contributed batteries, cables, and welding supplies, and to Steve for welding up the broken part on a very sloped part of the trail!
And also to the tow guys - that hill certainly kept everyone awake I'm sure.
I didn't take my Tacoma this year, and opted to ride with Scott Brady. A huge THANKS to Scott for letting me have a ball driving the Expeditions West Jeep through the entire trail. What a blast!

I love that picture looking down over black canyon. It would have been awesome to get a group picture by Desoto mine. I guess thats what next year is for.
