but why would you have to replace the glass, this is two holes through the top, a strip about 5 inches and a half inch tall going on, and only sticks out as much as your gutter...You seal it with silicone sealer and you've got yourself a rack, no leaks, no nothing, and it won't break...my top has personally taken 200+lbs with the camping rack and never had an issue.
I've never heard of a set up that doesn't bolt to the top, but if you find one, let us know, it's always cool to find new stuff

yup, mine is installed exactly like AxleIke's. you don't have to worry about drilling the fiberglass at all. i installed mine last spring, so my top was 16 years old at the time. the tops on these things are so strong, it's not a problem at all. when i get home from work, i'll post pics on how mine looks. but really, you don't need to worry at all. this is a very easy DIY project.

they're really easy to mount. just drill two holes, they come with a rubber strip that goes between the rain gutter and the fiberglass. i didn't need to do anything with silicone or anything, it hasn't leaked. if i remember correctly, the bolts that came in the pack were too short (you wouldn't believe how thick the top is) so i just got longer bolts of the same type at the hardware store.

Ok you have nothing to fear here. Just order the yakima fake gutters from any outdoor store. I got mine from REI. I actually went 1 step further than any of these guys and have 3 sets of "fake" gutters on my truck for a total of 4 crossbars.
the only thing I would add to what these guys have said is getting some washers to balance the metal plate (or make some bushings) when you bolt it in. On my rear most mount, it rides over one of the waves in the top and needed a ton of washers.
I've had this rack mounted for about 7 years, hauled everything cross country 4 times, and had no trouble at all. Super strong. Just take a lot of measurements, figure out your spans carefully and have fun.
I dont have any pictures at the moment but I can take some for you next weekend (my parents have the truck right now). Just let me know.
also, I'll be selling this truck soon, so I should have some cross bars available

Does anyone know if this thing will fit a Thule system that is supossed to go on a rain gutter too?
---I found a Thule one but its $25 bucks more- so would this fit a thule one?--

if you measure the width of the thule "foot" I'd be happy to tell you if its wider than the yakima and thus would not fit.
OR if you like, I have a spare set of yakima towers (the 1a raingutter style in the picture above) that I would sell you. you'd be on your own for bars since I am keeping them.
