After searching every where for one of the 1050 compressors at a decent price that are the rage on here i gave up and bought this one off Ebay. It's made in China and so small I really didn't think it would do much.
It's only 6.25" long and about 4" high and 4" wide, all steel except where the switch is on the back. The ad on the box say's it clamps directly to your battery but I found that wasn't true, it came with a lighter plug-in, but I bought the clamps for about $2.00 and wired them up. It states (C100 lbs. PSI) and it also said that it's displacement is 35 L min.
Anyway, to make a long story short this little thing is GREAT!!!. It comes with the quick disconnect flex hose with a preasure gauge on it to reach all four tires on my Tacoma even though I mounted this thing on the wheel well under the hood on the passangers side. It will take my 265/75/R16 from 15 lbs. to 32 lbs. in 3.5 minutes! It doesn't even grunt. We let it run for 6 minutes on a tire that we droped to 15 lbs just to see what we [IMG][/IMG] would get... it went to 54 lbs, Lol. It got a little hot but never missed a beat.
For the money I paid I have no complaints at all. Really runs great. Mike

hey i got the same one! i got mine off ebay for 32$ and he threw in a tow strap and tire repair kit. i havent used mine yet.

 

It was $29.00 + $12.00 shipping and I'm really happy with it. Played with it several times now and it works really great! It's so small that I had plenty of room to mount it. Drove most of the day off and on and it was 96 here today and it got warm under the hood but nothing that would ever hurt it. Guess the real test is how long it last, time will tell. Mike

 

Rocket, No problem. It seems like the MV 50 and 1050 went like hot cakes! Now the price is a little hard for me to swollow. One thing for sure, they haven't been used enough yet either to know how they will hold up. Mike

Phillip, On my 01 Tacoma it fit on the right side towards the back by the firewall on the finder well. In other words with the hood open and facing the truck it's on your left and in the back on the finder well. It comes with four rubber legs on the bottom of it to sit on. I pulled them out and then used 1/4" x 1.25" boltz and nuts with flat washers and lock washers to mount it right to the finder well. You have to remove the four little screws on the switch end to get the boltz in the back and then put it back on. Be careful you don't lose the little screws.
I had some 3/8" thick hard rubber laying around so I placed a piece of that between the bottom of the compressure and the finder well by drilling my bolt holes right through it. Because of the way the wheel well is shaped I could only use three bolts but it is really solid and wont move.
Then I ran my battery hook up cables from the compressure to the battery along the firewall and attached it at different areas along the way with nylon ties and the clamps store right beside the battery. The air hose is colied and stores perfectly beside the air box where it can't fall out. It all really worked out great.
