CV Boot twisted! Need help!
#1
the other day when i was muddin a stick got stuck in my driver side A-arm. i'm assuming it got wedged against my cv boot and held it in place while i was driving. the boot is in tact but looks mangled, it looks twisted. the only way it seems to be able to be corrected is to remove the boot and adjust it back to normal. i would prefer to fix it then to wait for it to break. any suggestions or ideas?

You'll need to loosen one of the ties that holds the boot on, or take it out.

You can just cut one of the clamps, readjust it, and put a heavy duty zip tie on it.

As long as the boot isn't torn, the above suggestion should work. Just a note of caution, make sure the clamp end of the zip tie doesn't protrude far enough to hit against anything when the axle turns. On some vehicles, the clearances can be tight.
