Taco Whip Antenna "Posture"

Forgive my wording, as it was for lack of better terms. I have just finished installing the tacoma whip and I was wanted to know how it stands on your truck. Mine tilts towards the back like this "\" rather than "|"... Is that how it is supposed to sit? Also from the front it tilts toward the center of the 4runner rather than straight up... If anyone has done this mod, could you please let me know if it is normal, or if I have to rip into the fender well again...

Thanks!

Big thanks to Bob_98SR5 and waskillywabbit for their thorough write-up's!!

Yeah I know. I first checked my dad's tacoma and saw it was straight, so that's why I decided to ask. Thanks though...

did you secure the bottom bolt (or was it a nut)? that is the only thing that i can think of that would make it tilt rearwards

and thanks for searching (even bigger to you!)

Mine actually tilts slightly inward toward the engine. Otherwise it is straight up. You might be able to carefully tug on it at the base and get it to move. Just don't pull too hard. Otherwise it sounds like you will have to take that darn fender liner off again.

Well I left off those plastic clips (I bought a couple extra), until I got to see what you folks would say. It doesn't really bother me that much (it's very slight). Tomorrow I will see if I can adjust it a little, but if not no harm, I love not having the stupid mast get stuck all the time...

Why dont you tighten the antenna to the base as tight as it will go, and bend the antenna to where its straight?
