what choices do i have for a selectable locker?

what choices do i have for a selectable locker?

besides the very expensive ARB, what are my choices for a selectable locker in the rear of my 2nd gen. runner. thanks

that's a toyota e-locker w/ a cable conversion from downey


your choices for a selectable locker are:

ARB RD23 + an air source like an ARB compressor

--or--

Toyota e-locker, but you will either need the cable conversion kit or the wiring instructions to get it to actuate. you will also need to modify the axle housing to get it to work which requires some drilling, tapping, grinding and welding.


either way, you will have other expenses. with the ARB, you can use your third member, but you will have to pay for the gears to be set up on the install. you can find the e-locker thirds with the gears in them, but the pinion flange is different for the 2nd gens, so you will need to have that modified and you will have to pay for the axle housing work unless you tackle that yourself.

Swap in a dana 44 in the back and get an electrac.....

just kidding that's even more money, but I guess it's an option.

I sthe yota 8" stronger than a 44????

If it is one more thing to laugh at my jeep buddy.

He has a 35 and wants to upgrade to a 44.....maybe I should just tell him to get a yota 8"
