I saw this write-up a few months back in one of my 4WD mags I subscribe too.
The article is online I just noticed. Pretty cool how he went about modifying his rig.
He's got the best of both worlds. A partial removable top, and 4 doors.
Looks like his rig could go just about anywhere to.
Here is the article.

WOW!! Everything about that Runner is pretty amazing. Especially the rear 1/4 eliptical rock buggy springs.
I have been wondering about how to convert a Jeep 5 lug front axle to the Toy 6 lug pattern for a SAS, anyone know the details on this?

I was just wondering aloud since the bobbed runner up top has a Jeep axle but the 6 lug pattern. I have no intentions of going to the dark side anytime soon.
Edit:
OMG!! Upon further review I think there is problem with the steering arms. There dosent seem to be any clearance between the arm and the leaf spring. It seems like the steering arm hitting the spring would be the limiting factor for wheel stuff. A hard hit would bust a ball joint at the least. I'm judging by this pic. With the way everything else looks to be built on it, I doubt they skimped on this but you never know.
