Anyhow, what do you guys suggest ? Buying a new part ? Buying a used part ?

Replace it with a used part, or have a used part cut and put in the place where the rust is ?

Anyhow .. hope it will not get much worse soon :/

I'd buy a new part. I just bought two new back Bumper ends because mine were starting to rust out.

 

The dealer or third party ?... expensive ?

I'm also worried about fitting the new part.. think I have to tear the bed apart to put it in.

 

Gummi, why is that chain holding back your mud gaurd?

 

I went aftermarket, I paid about 80$ a side roughly. MUCH cheaper then from the dealer.

 

Is there so I can strap the mudguard up higher.. quickly.. (you can see a strap there )

It is so that I don't tear it right off in snow.. since there is no need for it in snow.. The chain is supposed to hold it away from the tire.. Have chaines both front and rear.

 

OMG! That's ugly. I hate when I see that anywhere on my stuff. Decay is'nt good in this case.

 

I gotta ask - I've seen a bunch of pictures of yours and your buddies rigs in your various Iceland 4x4 pics. What's the deal with everyone having huge arse fender flares on everything in site? Is it a trend?

 

They are used to cover the big arse tires they are running!

 

Yeah, I think they run the big arse tires because they need them to float over all the snow, mud, bogs out there in Iceland. You guys ever see how some of the guys there seat their beads on their big arse tires using butane and a match? Pwooof! And its done.

 

I used to live in Iceland. The fender flares are mandated by law to cover most of the tread that sticks out past the body. This can mean some wide-ass flares for 44" tires...

So no, it's not a trend.
