newbie daily driver/trail rider help

what mods should i do to my rig. I just started 4wheelin

I was thinkin about doin a 2" body lift from Rog Brown. Should I do a locker &/or winch? what shocks are good(cheap too) I drive around a college town (UGA) daily and don't want to flatten any fellow humans, but I want to hit the trail and not worry about my truck to much. I like to do most mods myself and I'm fairl mechanically inclined. o yeah, it's IFS, auto PS what are some good GA trals or real close

First off, Welcome to yoyatech! Second, what kind of yota do you have? A locker is always a well worth the money mod. A body lift is just that, a body lift. For more ground clearance you want to go with a lift kit. If you have a Toyota you have nothing to worry about!!!

I LOVE my skyjacker shocks.

Awesome ride. WICKED price. Lifetime warranty.

Id say the first mod you do is a winch. the only thing a locker is going to do is get you stuck EVEN Worse. (If you get stuck that is) Unless you have buddies you wheel with you need some way of getting your arse out.

First thing you should do is find some people to go wheeling with so you can learn what it's all about. The most important mod is learning how to drive off road. Everything else is simply to make up for that lack of ability.

Not to sound mean, but I would try the search function first just because many people have put winches and 32's on 2nd gen. 4runners and there is lots of reading about it.

FWIW, you can fit 32's with very minor triming. If your 4runner has the saggy butt, I would reccomend some 1.5" lift springs to fix that.

I own a 92 4runner and i run 32x11.50s on 15x8 wheels, and when my truck was stock they didnt rub much. You may need to flaten your body seems. I dont want an ifs lift at all. I am lucky my ifs exists with how i abuse it, most of the time an ifs lift just makes things harder on your front end, escpecially because it encourages a larger tire. besides I dont want to put a ton a money into something i am just going to remove anyway, when i do my sas (solid axle swap, for the newb). However, I did get a set of 26mm torsion bars so i could safely crank in about 1 in of lift, now i dont rub at all, then i put a set of allpro 1.5in coils in thew back. As far as lockers go, i put a detroit in the back and what a difference, If i had a nickle for every time i cursed my open diff for leaving me stranded in a pathetic piece of trail, I would be a rich man. Best mod i ever made!!!!!! oh and welcome, toys rule
