I dont know what I did... but it worked

Well I finally got fed up with my Running crappy 94 4runner SR5 with the 3.0

So, I got a new upper intake gasket, PCV valve and throttle body gasket. I took off everything on top of the motor, Gave it a good wash with parts cleaner, replaced some parts, and inspected all of my vacuum lines and fixed a couple. After scrubbing the intake manifold and washing the 1/2 pound of crud out of it I slapped it back togetherand ran some injector cleaner. Also replaced the injector o-rings and a few other misc. stuff. Well Let me tell you... It feels like its new again. I cant say exactly what I did that fixed it. But after 150,000 miles I guess the crud just built up. I wish I knew What the problem was to help others, but it may have also been a series of small things. The acceleration is *better* its still a dog but it peels out now, runs smooth, and gets better mileage. I would suggest this to someone who has alot of miles, and it feels alot slower than before. It just might help out the problem.

This made my day, and I think ill treat myself to some 32's and flares now.

It's amazing how much crap gets built up in the intake manifold and plenum isn't it? Mine is ported and polished so I have to take it apart and clean it regularly to make that mod worth while. Glad to hear you got her runnin' right!

How difficult is that to do? Do you have to reset the idle or anything?

If Your mechanically inclined.. its very easy... It takes about 2+ hours to do the whole thing. Maybe A little bit longer if you want to label everything.

As far as resetting the idle, I didnt have to do it. I just unbolted the throttle brackets and cruise.. and bolted them back up, there were no adjustments needed but I cant say it will be like that for everyone.
