Rubber Windshield Gasket Installation

Well after some great advice here I sanded down the factory windshield and got the rubber gasket to install on my Yota. If you are going to use the rubber gasket I see no other option ( other than grinding the cab down ) to get the windshield installed. The results are are awesome IMO.

Perfect!! My local glass company was telling me about this, but could not give any details. They just ''kinda heard about it".. I need glass in both my trucks

EDIT: Well after planning a little bit and looking at both my trucks, how are you supposed to get the gasket in with all the interior in the way?? A pillar moldings, the dash pad and the headliner molding in the way. OR am I overthinking this... In the video he has no issue at all with the cab gutted.

I would say it would be much more difficult with the moldings and dash in place. Also The black metal trim ( with defrost holes and vin plate ) I had to grind ( actually I used a sanding wheel on grinder ) as the outer edge hits the rubber of the gasket. The rubber trim on top front of headliner has to be pulled off but pretty sure the actual headliner would be OK.

So, you would have to remove a lot of the inside of the cab if replacement was necessary down the road. Windshield change could turn into a weekend project.

My ad shoud still be up- I had to purchase a whole role (about 5 winshields worth) of the gasket, works nice and there is a groove with urethane that sticks to the edge of the winshield. For my 90- the windshield is oe piece.
