changing transmission fluid

1987 4Runner, DLX, EFI, 22RE, AT-4spd w/ o.d.....278,000 miles. had power flush and new fluid, filter done 40K miles ago in 2017.

Q: should this fluid be changed again and another power flush, new filter be done?
Shifts OK, fluid level OK, color seems OK........ But with high mileage, suggestions?
thanks

No need to keep flushing it. Just drain and refill every 25-50 k.

This, too ^^^
In fact, newer vehicles like our 2007 Corolla do not require ATF replacement...

years ago, we bought a used '97 corolla for my wife to drive - it had 59K miles on it when we purchased it in 2000. when we finally retired it (rust) in 2016, it had 279k miles on it, and was still running the original ATF in the transmission. i never added any to it, and it never "used" it up or leaked. zero issues with that transmission.

My other Toyota uses ATF-WS with inspection intervals of 100,000 miles/no replacement interval. I drained it at 20,000 miles just to see it; it came out pretty dark, and I put fresh fluid in. Drained it again at 80,000 miles and it came out looking just like new. Put new in (you aren't supposed to reuse it since it's hygroscopic), and I figure I won't bother checking it ever again.
