Looking for original bottle Jack rods

I'm looking for either the original bottle Jack arm (for raising/lowering the jack), or someone who knows a trick to lower the spare tire chain.

Yup, that's what you want. Or you could just find a flat piece of steel and weld it to a rod of the correct length and use a pipe wrench or something to turn it.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I did not wanna pay over $100 for the whole thing with a bottle jack that won't work on my truck anyway.

All toyota trucks from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s use this same tool, including the spare winch under the bed.
you can probably find one at a local junkyard.
One of the many things I love aboit toyotas is the cross generation parts compatibility.

The only problem with finding anything for Toyota's around my area is there are TONS of people who make their money by pulling parts off cars right at the junkyard and charging people for pulling the part. Personally I dont think these people should be allowed to do this, but it is what it is. So Toyota's are stripped down VERY quickly as soon as they hit the ground.

For example, I have an account with LKQ PYP..I get notifications when Toyota's come into a yard. I'm about 40 minutes away from my nearest PYP. I received a notification that a Toyota matching my criteria hit the yard, completely intact (less accident damage). When I got there, the truck had already been stripped of the motor, transmission, the bed, wheels, door panels, window cranks..etc. only thing left was the cab and frame. So I've gotta get my parts from online sources.

Would love to find door panels for my truck from the junkyard, because it'll obviously be cheaper than online. But because of these "junkyard vultures" I have to buy online.

i got my replacement "jack bar" (with the hook for the tire winch) from toyotajims. they had them all pre-pulled just sitting in a tote. was a while ago, but I think I paid 40$ for it? At the time I thought it was steep, but it works so muh better than the homemade version I was able to slap together. if you have a decent welder and some bar stock, it wouldn't be hard. I'm sure that the Yotayard probably also has them, and I'm pretty sure both places ship. The ebay link above is cheaper for sure, but if you want the "original" jack hook, it's still out there.

Thanks. I did in fact purchase the one on Ebay. I really don't care about it being from the matching year, so long as it works.

YUP. I cannot use the stock rod with my tube bumper in the way, and socket extensions are cheap so...

Same here, and even if the parts (like light housings) are there, they'd be old and not worth the 80-mile drive.

I prefer body panels that are utilitarian, easy to maintain (no dust-trapping velour), and no hidden fasteners that break each time you touch them so I modded/refurbished mine HERE:

So to those wondering or looking for one of these, it did not fit into the channel (crank) for the spare tire winch without modification to the tool. The middle part of the hook end was too wide to fit in, so i had to heat it up and flatten it a bit to get it to fit in.

Nothing a torch and 2 lb. sledge couldn't handle.

I used the tire tool from my 2010 Tundra to lower the spare tire in my '86 4 Runner. From what I can tell, they haven't changed much, if any. Salvage yard search for any Toyota truck, 4Runner, Highlander, etc. should get what you need.
