Hey guys, I found a 01 4Runner e-locker with complete axle for $850. You guys think it is a reasonable price??

 

uuumm correct me if I'm wrong someone .. but that can't happen .. 01 and 02 have center diff locks, not rear lockers

 

I might be wrong. But I am sure it is not a center diff lock. It has the rear diff lock button on the dash and I tried looking at the rear axle it has the locker on it. Correct me if I am wrong. I was told it is a 01 4Runner by the junkyard owner.

 

I'm pretty sure 00 was the last year for the rear locker .. someone who can confirm that will chime in soon.

 

hmm, then what do think I saw then?? Confuse ....So does the 01 has a button that says "center diff lock" instead of "rear diff lock"?

 

It doesn't say anything...it's a pic of 4 wheels with an "x" in the middle. Here's a pic of mine, sorry for the blurry image...hard to take pics at night!

 

Hey, thanks for taking the effort to take that picture for me...appreciate that Hmm, yours certainly look different from the one I saw. This is the exact button that I pulled from that 4Runner.

 

Well, that's definately for the rear electric locker. It is not from a 2001 4Runner, as mentioned, the last year for the e-locker on the 4Runner is 2000...but they continue to be available on Tacomas.

 

Guess the one I saw is a 2000 4Runner then. But what do you guys think about that offer of $850??

 

use the vin or cues like the rear tail lights or front headlights to determine the year -- or the front grille even.

 

I'd pay $850 for it...what is the gearing?

 

I have no idea about the gearing though, just thought that it would be easier swap out the whole thing. So you guys think this is a deal?
