Before I get toasted, yes I have read 4x4wires write up on this many times. That write up is very informative but is for a v6 while I have 4 cylinder(87 4runner). I’m planning on using an A340f from a 98 4runner and a stock manually actuated transfer case. Besides keeping my bell housing and torque converter what else will be used from the old tranny? What other parts will I need to purchase? Will my console and driveshafts remain the same? My neighbor who’s a retired mechanic just started showing me the ropes and will be doing most the swap but I need all parts sourced and as much info as possible . Any input / tips are appreciated.
