88 4Runner 3vze: the clutch won’t disengage all the way, I put in a Luk 1200 lb clutch about a yr and a half ago, probably 20,000 miles on it, all of a sudden it got real hard the shift lots of grinding pumping the pedal would help a little, I found fluid weeping by the back side of he clutch master cyl under the dash where the rod pushes in, so I replaced the master, bench bled it, then bled the system, didn’t see much air but ran about a quart of fluid through and the fluid started running cleaner halfway through the process, the slave seems to be moving proper amount as far as I can tell I kept playing with the pedal adjustment every which way even maxed out the rod ( fully extended to ensure the adjustment was maxed )the clutch is worse then before the master install, which keeps me from ruling out the hydraulic system, anyone know any tests I can do before pulling tranny to be sure, hate to pull it for nothing thanks in advance for any input

Check to see if your firewall is cracked and causing flexing when you push on the pedal.

The firewall does flex in the slightest of slight im thinking it’s cause we are pushing the pedal extremely hard and have the rod maxed out I’ll inspect for cracks in firewall better now though also inspected the bracket thoroughly and it looks good

the firewall was not cracked so I pulled the transmission off and found the fingers on the clutch spring had grooves on the tips from the throw out bearing. I’m going to contact luk and complain but even if they offer another I fear putting on another luk clutch would result in cursing and swearing later, what brands have people had good results with? trying to weigh my options...
