What all would need to be done to my 95 Pickup Not a Tacoma, to go to a 35 12.50 15 I have 31 10.50 15 on it and have for years, love the way it handles and rides but don't want to kill it's power even though it has the 3VZE V6. Would I need to go with a taller gear or what ALL would I need to do for it to keep the same or more power and top speed and the job done Right with quality and long wear ? Any help will be Appreciated

The only functional reason for 35" tires is to gain a couple more inches underneath. Do you absolutely need extra clearance for your purposes?

​​​Like all things, it's a compromise. You can't also gain more power, durability and driveability. Even after regearing, you'll lose some power because those big tires are heavier and you'll need deeper (and also heavier) rims to keep the tire profile flat. Your bearings, differentials and driveshafts will be under more strain from the extra weight. And the truck probably won't drive as nice as it does on 31's (due to suspension and driveline angle changes).

Do you plan on a suspension lift, body lift or both? If I were going to modify mine for better off-road ability, I'd look into a rear locker before going to bigger tires. And then a small suspension lift (Old man emu gets pretty good reviews on yotatech). I get that big tires look good, but I can't see much of a practical reason to go bigger than 33's on our little trucks.

 

I am seriously leaning toward a 4 inch full suspension lift only (as it has the " big tire" package so I think about 2 inch body lift) , and 33's I have had 15 x 10 rims on it for ever and the tire wear is excellent. Thanks for the advise and i agree. Now for the best suspension lift for my truck. Any suggestions ?
