Would I be insane if I wanted to swap a 3.0 V6 for a 22R Carb? Built many a 22R in the 10 years I raced Yota's (hence the user name) and I have tons of notes on making them do crazy things.
The V6 in my truck is decent, but I really want a R motor in it. Its either the 22 or I'm going to build a 3VZ and see what I can get out of it.

 

If you really want a 22r truck, buy one. Lottsa headaches swapping from 3vz. Tranny won't cross, ect.

 

better off swapping the 3vze for the 5vze. direct swap and worry free maintenance.

 

Look around on here and you'll find a thousand better projects than that. I like Millball's idea of trading down to an older truck and also Space-Junks 5VZ idea. I'm about to do one of those myself.

 

There is nothing stopping you from doing this swap.

It would for sure be a labor of love and a test of your fabrication skills .

Just why are you in love with the 22R?? You should know building the 22R is very expensive for every horse power gained

Building a 3VZ some might think your insane!!

Bored and you need something to get out of the house .

I tend to agree buy a 22R truck or really research the 3.4 swap
