3.ol v6 Auto to 22RE Manual SWAP

Just wondering if anyone has swapped out a 3.ol auto to a 22re manual. The reason is because I found a truck that I like, a loaded excellent condition SR5 model but it has the 3.o and automatic, I have a complete donor truck to do a 22re and 5 spd swap. I think it would be no problem but thought I would check with some of you guys first, maybe there is something I had not thought of that might be a problem. Both trucks are extra cab 4x4, one is a 1994 and the other is a 1995. I know that I would have to swap the ECM's too.

Red face

Why not swap the cab and bed onto the 22re frame

Your also going to need to move the motor mounts

Depending just how you do things you need to merge the engine harness with the truck harness.

Which is really less work then completely swapping all the harnesses from the donor truck.

Are you sure you would not rather go 3.4 ??

Maybe do some serious thinking just what you want to do.

i myself am in a similar situation. i have a really nice sr5 extra cab. blown 3.0. paid 600 for it so i cant really go wrong. i also have another 600 dollar 22re single cab, rusted out underneath motor transmission, etc is in good shape, so i have all my wiring harnesses and everything i need for the swap. only thing i dont have 100% figgured out is how i'm going to do the motor mounts. i've done a decent amount of reading. it seems the general consensus is forget the 22re and put in a 3.4. or if your gonna go all out find some old diesel to drop in it's place. i dont have a 3.4 donor, and i dont have a diesel. i like 22re motors. know how to work on them better than any other motor, and if i play my cards right and sell all the parts i dont need, i could potentially get this truck back on the road for a grand or less, so it seems my best option is to go through with it.
