fuel pressure regulator leaking
I have a bad fuel leak from the pressure regulator, like a steady stream. It seems to be leaking from the sealing area with the fuel rail. I had taken it off during my engine rebuild when I was cleaning everything and it never leaked before. I took it off and made sure the sealing surface was good and clean but when I put it back on it leaked just as bad. Anybody had trouble getting one of these to seal?

There's a thin steel washer, i figured it would have been a copper one like most other fuel fittings. Seems like i'd have to cut it to get it off though, like the inner diameter of the washer is smaller than the diameter of the threads. Is there a possibility that the regulator itself is leaking and it just looks like it's coming from the seal?

I just did a google image search for "1991 toyota pickup fuel pressure regulator" and the pictures show a steel washer and an o-ring. Does this sound right? I can't remember if mine had an o-ring or not when I took it off.

At this point it can`t hurt to try just make sure the o ring is safe to use with whatever chemicals are added to gas these days.
You don`t want it dissolved with the first contact.
Then the regulator could be leaking itself
