I found a pristine gas tank, pump and sender today in a salvage yard. i didn't get it today because I wasn't sure it would fit in my 86.

My internet searching Kung Fu has failed me. Will these cross over?

 

It will work. I cant remember which plug is different on the float or fuel pump assembly that is different but I have just wired in the correct plug in the past and it works. One is a round plug and that is the one that is going to be different. The other will be a flat plug. The wiring is the same color so I just switched plugs by soldering and shrink wrapping.

You said 89 runner to 86, in your signature I am assuming you mean an 86 Runner as well. If it is an 89 runner to 86 pickup, no then they wont interchange. Pickup and Runner tanks are different.
