New motor start up

Just installed a new re manufactured 3.0l in my 94 runner, timing belt was installed by builder , I only installed homonic balancer and all other pulley belts and exhaust ,intake and distributor, befor I put front cover on I made sure that everything was on top dead center with it all lining up , so the other day I finished installing spark plug wires cap rotor battery , so now I'm ready to fire it up and it runs like crap, missing back fires , rechecked the timing and I'm dead on so I need help any ideas
Thanks

Tripled checked spark plug wires, at one point when I tried starting it it back fired on the left side of the intake, where the spark plug wires come across the front ?

The crack is not supposed to be there, so yes it would cause a problem

Now after I tried starting the motor, I broke down a tore the front end off , to my amaze the timing belt was off one pulley was dead on and the other was at ten o'clock, so that is why it would not run right, to my understanding is after you install your timing belt you should rotate the motor at least 2 revolulation and the then check TDC again, my fault for trusting the machine shop that put the motor together, a lesson learned
