.Hey this is my first post on here so excuse me if its in the wrong section. I recently acquired a 99 4 runner with 230k miles. Had a high idle but runs fine. It has a very hard time accelerating almost like your riding the brakes and gets terrible mileage(about 8 MPG). It was pulling 02 sensor codes,CTC code,and,knock sensor bank 1. The knock sensor wire going under the intake, along with the ctc wire was melted like there was a small fire. Got a used IAC and cleaned it up,and fixed my high idle. So i ordered new intake gaskets, knock sensors, 02 sensors, ctc sensor,new knock sensor pigtail,new CTC pigtail and installed everything, went smoothly other than when i pulled the fuel rail one of the injectors broke in half. One half stayed in the rail and the other half stayed in the intake. Doesnt seem to be leaking though. Runs no differently.But now im pulling a code for knock sensor bank 2. Before it was bank 1. So far ive cleaned the MAF and replaced spark plugs. 3 of the spark plugs were very clean and looked new so im assuming its running very lean. Runs and idles fine with no missing or studdering,only having a lack of power.Maybe faulty knock sensor,or injector issue? I run injector cleaner and seafoam. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am not to familiar with the 3.4 but from my experience with Knock Sensors, I would suspect the wiring or the connector. Maybe this will bump you up to where someone that knows them can help.

 

Thanks, but the connector from the knock sensor to the truck harness is new.

What part of the injector broke off?

Try to appreciate the advantages you have in being able to see it in person vs. everyone else just reading a brief description.

it pretty much split in the middle. it didnt look broke and some people say they do that sometimes. bought oem sensors from the dealer..looks like im putting them in tomorrow
