problem staring my 87 22re back up

This problem has been going one for awhile now but I can start up my 4runner, let it warm up, drive a short distance, like a few miles to like a gas station or wherever, shut it off, then I can not restart it for ten to twenty minutes about. I try turning the key over and hear nothing. No starter, nothing in my ignition, lights on the dash come one but everything is silent. After I wait, lets say, ten minutes, it starts right up. Don't know what's going on. Please help me out!

Have u let it run for a longer amount of time to see if it dies?
Check the engine codes

Is the coolant full ?
Fuel pump ?

Yeah, it runs great for longer periods and has never died on me and have left it running while driving an hour to several hours and I dont have the same problem. Only when I only run it for fifteen minutes or so then shut it off try to start it back up it has this issue. I have to let it sit for ten minutes or so and then it fires right up.

All fluid levels are good and fuel pump works. Think it has to be some weird sensor or something. Computer in it is new so I don't think it is that. Already changed it once.

Alright thanks, how might I go about clearing the codes that may still be on there from the previous vehicle?

You are saying nothing in the igniton? Like starter is not engaging? If that is the case, check your starter contacts and starter relay. To clear codes just disconnect the battery. There is a fuse but I forget which one. I always just do the battery

Well yeah I guess. Nothing in starter or ignition. You can usually hear the ignition make a click noise even when starter is disconnected but I can't even hear that. Hook the starter back up and same problem, not getting power to anything. Dont understand why just giving it ten or so minutes it works just fine and also running it for a loner amount of time its fine. Only happens when its only ran for short amount of time this happens... Has me stumped.

Could be a poor ground connection .

The click you hear is most often the circuit opening relay closing or dropping out.

Inspect and clean ALL connections. NOT JUST grounds.
Also need to describe problem clearly:

Truck does not crank?
Cranks but no combustion (the VROOM)?

When Ignition on, EVEN IF ENGINE DOES NOT START, try turning AC on. Does it work?
