4x4 2005 Tacoma?

This website is saying that it's the new Tundra. The TTORA guys are convinced that it's the new Tacoma - they're saying that the size and the overall covered look (considering what the X-Runner looked like) is too similar.

So here's the link:
http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/news/07tundra.html

...and here's a pic to whet your appetite

...and to make a quick comparison:

If this is the new Toyota Tundra Double Cab, then I might have to get one when it comes out. It looks good as far as I can see. I wonder what engine (size?) it will have?

It should be the 2005 Tacoma, manufacturers dont run with disguised models on the road till very shortly (6-12 months) before the release.

It looks pretty big, close to the size of a Tundra. That's probably why there is confusion.

Defintely has some close styling to the 4Runner, so much for the break between the 4RUnner and Tacoma I think they will probably share lots of components, knowing Toyota. Great for the rest of us, more parts to pick from and aftermarket goodies.

I just hope they throw in the V8!!!

Yeah, it does look pretty similar, doesn't it?
If you take off the street effects the rear bumper has the same type of curve up.

Are we sure it is a Toyota? Looks an allot like an updated Armada/Titan.

Yeah, it's a Toyota - there's no reason to disguise a Titan now...

Okay, same angles here - or as similar as I can find...

look at the interior - the handles and mirror look pretty much exactly like each other although that front grill looks a bit weird.

I have read that the new Tacoma will not have the V8, but will get a bigger V6, probably the 4RunnerV6.

Maybe it is a new Tundra? My comment on the Titan/Armada is that maybe it is the 05/06 replacement? Sure does not look like any Toyota I have seen.

Same thing with the 05 Pathfinder/Frontier – It will get the 4.0 V6 but not the 5.6 option. :chicken:?
