AC clutch bearing question
Guys,
I have still not found my FSM even with all the boxes unpacked with more to go.
So a newb question.
How to remove ac clutch?
Prefer to do so on the 4rnr as it blows cold.
If anyone has an e-copy of the FSM they don't mind sharing please help a bother out.
Thanks in advance.

You want to remove the A/C clutch from the compressor? I don't understand "Prefer to do so on the 4rnr as it blows cold." "Blowing cold" sounds like a good reason to NOT remove the clutch.

That would be an electrical problem not a clutch problem.
The power to the coil is not being shut off.
Like all other things electric I guess a surge could weld the contacts like a starter .
I never took one apart now I am curious just how they do work.
What happens if you just unplug it??

Got noisy Friday. Was blowing really cold at time. So would think that AC on the bearing wouldn't make noise. But AC cycles. Have noted oil/grease seeping out between the parts of clutch, so thinking bearing going out.

That belt should be by it`s self remove it till you get it fixed..
Depends on the model of compressor some had a snap ring some had bolts in theory it should come off .
In real life most times it is stuck and a puller is needed being careful not to break anything .
Just where you live plays a big part in how bad it is stuck.

Yeah, pulled the belt off. Was trying not to pull compressor don't think there is room to use a pulley puller with it mounted. There is a 12mm bolt on the shaft. Just need to know if there is a snap ring or not.
Will research
