Lunchbox locker in LA?

Hey everybody i noticed a 3rd member on craigslist with an aussie locker preinstalled for $250. I am thinking about installing it on my daily but i live in LA and do most of my driving on road. I have read that they are livable in a daily, but would you guys advise against it for a car that has to sometimes drive to the snow, and spends most of its time in traffic. Also you guys think $250 is a reasonable price for an assembled 3rd, also do you think there are hazards in getting one used?

If its in good condition then nothing wrong with it in a daily driver, $250 is a good price, Especial if its already the gear ratio needed.

I checked my axle code and it is 4.10, this seems correct for a v6 89 runner? This is what the the one on craigslist is. A Detroit locker off a 94 pickup has also came up for the same price.

The Detroit locker has a reputation for being strong, but also for having fairly poor street manners (noisy and clunky). The Aussie is much more street friendly. Given your use model, I'd go with the Aussie.
